Role Summary
The Vice President of Global Sales and Business Development will be accountable for driving top line revenue growth and overall market adoption of Almond’s products and services across the globe to support Almond’s aggressive growth targets.
This role will focus on selling Almond solutions that meet the needs of clients in specific segments such as money transfer providers, money services businesses, payment facilitators, payment processors. The role will lead, nurture, and grow a diverse team of globally dispersed Sales Reps.
This leader will drive maximum value by bringing in new clients and have a primary responsibility to drive revenue, while ensuring an optimal client experience across the sales lifecycle. The role will craft sales strategies for each market and client segment, set and manage the sales outlook, closely manage the pipeline of deals across the globe – including their own deals, and build/optimize robust Sales Operations. Success will require close partnership with Customer Success, Product Management, Marketing, Finance, and Legal to ensure sales and business goals are met.
The selected leader must have organizational savvy and interpersonal skills to build fast rapport and credibility with clients, support and coach their team, work cross-functionally within Almond, and will be equally comfortable interacting with Almond’s leadership team. They will have a proven track record of success in fast-paced environments with a “roll-up your sleeves and get it done” mentality. The selected leader must also be comfortable working across global time zones and managing their workday accordingly.
Responsibilities:
Exceed sales targets
- Work cross functionally to develop and deliver annual and multi-year revenue and profitability plans
- Support the build of, and adherence to, go to market (GTM) plans
- Coordinate with marketing to create and execute campaigns that generate demand and leads, as well as create and implement strategies to attract and acquire potential clients.
- Achieve quarterly sales and revenue goals
- Create a high value pipeline for new business, as well as support the Client Success team with upselling to existing clients
- Lead your team through the sales cycle from prospecting through to close
- Enable sales acceleration and prioritization of activities with high potential client targets, use cases, industry segments, etc.
- Lead regular pipeline review and problem-solving sessions with their Sales Reps, including spearheading solutioning when client plans stall
Lead the Sales team to achieve results
- Ensure high performance, team cohesiveness, and individual development
- Deploy resources for optimal growth in-line with Almond’s strategy
- Establish/optimize consistent, effective processes and artifacts/materials which incorporate the use of proven sales methodologies, and making Almond Products & Solutions easy to buy and to sell (Go-to-Market, Sales Enablement, and Sales Operations)
- Ensure the Sales team’s product knowledge is at a level they can demonstrate product value and capabilities effectively to prospects and clients
- Consistently review progress and adjust activities as needed to achieve results
- Drive the implementation of sales initiatives, report sales activity/results, and closely monitoring the forecast and pipeline
- Ensure roll out, adoption, and optimization of sales best practices
Work with cross-functional partners to ensure we have what we need to be successful with our clients
- Manage close working partnerships with Almond cross-functional stakeholders
- Facilitate the capture and communication of client and market feedback, collaborating closely with Almond’s Product team to ensure product requirements are clearly understood and delivered
- Work with Almond’s Product and Marketing teams to improve the go-to-market strategy, define the right value proposition, and construct to meet client needs
- Work with Almond’s Marketing team to ensure client-facing artifacts/materials are fit-for-purpose and help accelerate the learning and sales process
- Partner with Almond’s Legal team to ensure client contracts drive to successful outcomes for both Almond and our clients
- Closely collaborate with Customer Success to handoff the sale to the onboarding/implementation phase ensuring an optimal client experience
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressively complex hunting sales within the cross-border payments, money movement, FX, remittance, money transfer, fintech sectors
- 7+ years building, restructuring, coaching, growing, and managing teams
- Broad existing network of senior level, key decision makers in our target sectors / target prospects
- Deep understanding of client dynamics and needs within the broader payments / money movement ecosystem
- Consistent track record of achieving sales targets through the management of a sales team and individual contribution
- Previous experience with revenue management and revenue goal setting
- A proven track record of new business solution selling, including superior sales skills combined with strong negotiation capabilities required for large deals
- Strong commercial drive with the ability to build and monetize senior client relationships based on empathy, thought leadership and subject matter expertise
- Strong networker with the ability to listen, build common ground and influence to effectively advance business opportunities and generate revenues
- Possess a never give up attitude, excellent at ‘hitting the pavement’ through email/phone cold outreach; Ability to thrive and build a robust individual pipeline
- A technical mindset, with prior experience in selling complex, API-driven solutions
- Comfortable working within fast-paced, ambiguous environments, and have a level of maturity to work with little supervision
- Success-oriented and hold yourself accountable for delivering key outcomes, including KPIs and revenue targets
- Willing to travel as required

- 5+ years experience working in an early-stage company/business

- Strong software solution selling background

Compensation:
Base Salary: $150,000 - $200,000 per year
Commission: Attractive commissions package
